NEED SERIOUS HELP

what does 1 long beep mean when you start up

a almost solid beep that lasts about 5 seconds

the only thing that isnt hooked up is the cd-rom

the first time i didnt hear them because i was thinking "uh o"

i think it might be a bad processor.....i got it from a company that said they unlock them before they ship them.....

Are you booting up at default FSB? Sounds like you might have it clocked too high.

What motherboard, processor, video card, etc?

With some you need to make sure the HS/fan is plugged into the FAN1 MB connector and not FAN2 or PS wire.

abit kt7a raid
1 gig tbird
fop38 (needs power supply connection, motherboard fan connector will burn out - people say)

it would be its "first boot" - i just wanted to see if it would start up before i ordered burner and dvd....

i said screw it since i got it cheap anyway and bought a 1.2 gig tbird with 266 fsb...

i will then have two 1.2 gig machines
thank god i got paid today
