I bought a Galaxy Glacier 6800 GU (Galaxy Ultra Limited Edition).

My monitor kept turning itself off n i found out its cos a molex was loose on a hard disk, i put it in properly.

It worked great for about 2 months, unitl.....

I reinstalled Windows - only time i opened the case was to unplug the molex from a drive then to plug it in again.

Decide to use Driver 76.10 (Gur3D)

- When overlcocking with coolbits "detect optimal" my screen went blurry then pc rebooted
- Was playing San andreas and my comp rebooted
- Tried to play again and it rebooted again

Thought it must be driver issue so i decided to use 77.30 (Guru3D)

- PC rebooted while playing San Andreas but lasted much longer
- 4 hours into Battle for Middle Earth and my PC rebooted

So, i checked the wiring, temps and voltages. Temps were sweet liek they always had been.

- Left RivaTuner monitoring my temps ect.. overnight while i left 3DMark05 looping.

Upon my return I found my monitor "off" but PC on, maybe it blue screened i dont know.

My PC will no longer boot with the card in, i hear one long beep - same beep i get when i have NO card in. Obviously no VGA.

Ive taken the card apart and removed the Glacier cooling, no burns no marks no damage.
I have also tried the card in other computers..... same problem, one long beep - no vga no boot.

Problem gets worse :( ........ I have no receipt or warranty. I got it from work and left due to their unprofessional attitude's. They definately wont take the card back.

I was lucky to get the card, money is hard work to earn - I wont have money like that again to get another high end card. This has really upset me lol !

Please, if anyone has any idea's of what i can do reply.

Ouch. Looping 3dmark05 overnight probably wasnt such a good idea, if it overheats youre not there to shut it down. Did rivatuner leave a temp log behind?

I dont know if your card would shut down due to overheating or just try to keep trucking. It may of burnt itself out. The fact that it doesnt work in any other comp leads me to that conclusion :(

Yeah looping 3DMark05 overnight was just plain stupid of me... I was pretty stoned n wasnt thinking right, I didnt even set RivaTuner to log the temps to a file either, Grrr.

Am paying for it now. BUT I've contacted my old work they we're kind of civilised about ti and took the card back, its on its way back to Galaxy, wooo !!

BUT (uho) when i took the heatsink and fan off there was a little black rectangle heatsink over the power thingy's... I took that off too and the pin snapped off... It was just a little tiny black plastic pin that you wont even notice unless u take the fan n heatsink off and it must cost next to nothing and doesnt affect the card -

Would that little pin being broke void my warranty ?

Dunno about the warrenty, I doubt they take them apart on returns. If it doesnt work they probably just toss it. I dont know if they would try to take the hs/fan off 1st to reuse it..
