It's a "vampire" movie but what it's really about is the male in the story choosing to "let the right one in" where the "right one" is the female in the story.

have you seen the movie or not? it was in theatres january 2008. what are you basing your incorrect opinion on?

The original Night of the Living Dead was creepy.

Disturbingly twisted:
The Stink of Flesh

Science fiction horror:
From Beyond

Not very scary:
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
Return of the Living Dead 2, 3 (sadly the classic first movie is disc only :( )

Return of the Living Dead 2 is HILARIOUS.

Zombie boyfriend to human girlfriend: "Baby, please! Let me eat your brains! I'M the one who really loves you!!"

Let the Right One In is the foreign version (the original) not the one that was recently in theaters.

FWIW, Haunting in Connecticut was meh. I've seen FAR worse "horror" movies, but the movie had a lot more potential and didn't capitalize on it. The overall concept wasn't too bad, but I don't recall a single edge-of-your-seat, going to creep you out for the rest of the night part.

Maybe it's just because I'm from Connecticut and everyone was hyped up about the movie.

Let the right one in is definitely not a love story. It's not your classic horror movie either, but its not a love story. Good flick too.

An American Werewolf in London
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Bram Stoker's Dracula
The House of Usher
Pandorum - sort of scifi/horror

Haunting In Connecticut is not good, pretty boring in fact.

The Crazies (assuming it's the remake) is pretty good for what it is, though the "scares" are kind of repetitive.

The Omen (assuming it`s the original) is pretty good; it`s always had a soft spot in my heart since it was I watched it with my Mom when I was very young.

Survival of the Dead is not good.

The Exorcist is one of the greatest horror films ever made. If you have not seen it, you should watch it if you have any interest in actually watching a classic horror film. Let The Right One In is amazing, but judging by who the OP is I will recommend Surrogates, even though I've never seen it.

Both The Crazies and The Haunting In Connecticut are pretty bad. Haunting has a slight edge in terms of creepiness but both the plots are a mess.

Altered States is on On Demand too, if you want to see some trippy shit. It's more sci-fi than horror.
8-eyed ram-headed crucified Jesus makes an early appearance.
