Need scanner suggestions

My scanner has died and I need a new one. The requirements are very small. I need no more than 1200dpi 24 bit scanning. 8 1/2 x 11 is wanted. 8 1/2 x 14 would be nice to have. Obviously I dont think scanners come this small anymore, I just want to emphasize the fact that I dont need anything that big at all. I would just like something that could hopefully do legal size sheets of paper in color. But normal paper is fine too.

I just bought this one about 2 months ago and it does everything that I need it to. It is well built and doesn't need a power cord. The price has gone down since I bought it.

FYI: This thread belongs in the Peripherals section... Oh, and there is also a Hot Deals where you'll find, guess what, Hot Deals on scanners. And maybe even better deals in the FS/T section...

Anyway, get on over to the Epson Clearance Center. Sale this week (thru the 21st) - 20% off the already reduced prices plus free ground shipping. Linkage.
One of the first two models they have there (3490) is a CR recommended Best Buy Christmas gift in the current issue.

IAC, it's hard to beat an Epson scanner. About the only place you'll get one cheaper is on fleaBay. I got mine there for under $50. shipped several years ago. It was New In Box and not a refurb. They get them for "free after rebate" with a computer system in the Big Box stores, don't have a clue what to do with them (and/or don't want to learn) and blow 'em out on fleabay...
