I just purchased the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router for $69.99 at Amazon. It is a very powerful wireless N router that offers plenty of room for future wireless N gadgets (Netflix players, laptops, etc.). However, it was not the easiest to get everything connected to it because of all the configuration options of DD-WRT firmware (I have set up around ten wireless routers before, so I have had a little experience with the individual settings). Once I got it running, the performance is great. You can flash "user friendly" Buffalo firmware to it if you don't feel like messing with DD-WRT.
However, depending on your knowledge level of routers and how much time you are willing to invest in getting it up and running, another good performing router that is geared towards simple configuration and set-up is the Cisco-Valet Plus Wireless Router. It can be found at Amazon for around $79.00.
IMO, it just doesn't make sense to limit your future performance of additional electronics by getting a wireless G router. If you are 100% positive that you will never add any wireless N clients to it, then go for it. If not, get a N router.
