So my dad has been having trouble with his internet connection for many months now. I've done what I can with the linksys router he has, but to no avail. Seems to work ok with 1 connection, frequently goes wrong with more and one comp seems to completely shut it down. The only reason I can think of for this problem is that Charter is now requiring mac address verification to properly access the internet. Perhaps the basic linksys router is having trouble with this, I have no idea.
Anyway I brought up my tried and trusted wrt54gl and it's currently working flawlessly, mac address cloned and all. Even had 3 comps connected and working. :awe:
So basically I need a very stable and easy to use router that won't get conflicted with mac address cloning. It doesn't need to do anything special, no draft N, etc. Just work...consistently.
