Need round cables? i see this all the time now...

Hi

1-Is this something new?

2-These round cables, are they replacing the flat ribbons i see in see my pc?

3-What's the purpose of round over flat?

1) I've only started seeing rounded cables widespread in the past couple years, but I'm sure the idea has been around for a much longer time.

2) They are more expensive that flat cables, because of extra manufacturing involved, so I do not see them taking over the flat ribbons.

3) Round cables are more flexible, look cool, and do help air flow in cramped areas. Plus, they just look darn cool.

they improve airflow, which is important in cooling, which is a big concern of overclockers, which many members here are. plus, they look nice.

i just zip tie mine. its cheaper, i dont care how it looks, and its very neat and organized (i dont overclock and my system is totally open so cooling is a moot point.).
