I'm looking for a restaurant in the NW corner of DC (preferrably in Foggy Bottom or DuPont Circle areas) that has a good scene but is relatively inexpensive ($12-$18 for average entree). So far I'm thinking of trying out Raku, but I'm afraid the people I'm inviting out might already go there too often. The other idea I had was Brickskellar, but I'm not sure they'll have the vegetarian option as their food is little more than pub fare.

Any other recommendations?

You could always just do the Cosi's...
Not a date, but for a group of about 4-6 people. What's Cosi's? I'm not from the area.

Raku is decent. They have good food, they make excellent drinks, and their calamari appetizer is fantastic. But if you're looking for more of a fine dining experience, Raku is not the place to go. It seems more like an asian diner to me.
