Without going into professional grade equipment, I say look into ATI AIW Radeon lines.

Probably don't need the Radeon ones. What about the "old" ATI AIWs? Is tehre any benefit (besides the Radeon chipset powers for 3d (I don't need that)).

As far as the Hauppage one's are concerned I don't see one that has a video out jack so I can record to my VCR. Am I missing it?

I would ike one that has in AND out so I can capture TV on the PC and also recrod videos from PC to VCR.

Just make sure you get the Rage128 AllInWonder that has the Rage Theatre chip. For Video in/out it's the Rage Theatre chip that does it, the Radeon chip has little to do with that. As long as you get a Rage128 AIW with the Theatre chip it will be the same for what youwant as the AIW Radeon. I think the Rage128 AIW with 32MB has the Rage Theatre chip and the 16MB ones don't, but I'm not sure on that. Just make sure it's there.

I think THIS is the one.
No need for the "pro" version. $ is somewhat a concern here.

I believe there are also 16MB versions of the AIW 128 designated as "Pro" models, that do contain a Rage Theatre chip. Could be wrong though......I gave up on ATI products long ago (I got sick of terrible drivers).

What about Matrox? You could get a G200 + Rainbow Runner if you could track them down, or the newer G400-TV. Anybody have any experience with these? I know that Matrox users are a rabid bunch, there must be someone who could give us the skinny on these cards.

And here's a couple links
