Need recommendations on where to build a website

any sites or software that you nerds can recommend? most of these templates that come up on google search are bogus. any suggestions? not looking for anything too fancy.

Windows geeks say notepad, Unix geeks say VI or VIM, save for those misguided few that use EMACS.

You will find that KompoZer (the successor to NVU) is one of the best free WYSIWYG editors.

Microsoft's Visual Web Developer Express is likely pretty good as well, but I have never used it.

If you want to pay $$$, then the traditional choice is Dreamweaver, but Adobe likely has done terrible things to it by now.

thanks. what about Expression web? dreamweaver i can handle, but want something easier. like a turnkey template, or xml flash?

If you need a relatively easy option, get a CMS (like Drupal) or forum software, install it on your server/website and use a template/theme/style for it.

hmm, i tried Joomla for a minute and found it to be crap. will give Drupal a shot though
