Need Recommendations on Hand-Held GPS Unit!!!

I will mostly be using it on a boat, but I also want the flexibility to use it for other purposes (i.e. hiking, driving, 4-wheeling, etc.).

I'm currently considering the Magellan Meridian Color (for ~$400). Anybody have any experience with this relatively new unit?

Any other recommendations/thoughts?
