I've been using the software that comes with the Canon digital cameras, but I'm not that impressed with it. Any recommendations for a more powerful program?

Take a look at the new Thumbs Plus 5.01 by Cerious. It rocks!

Thumbs

I do all my digicam filing and editing with it.

acdsee is so bloated these days. and zoombrowser is pathetic.

For large databases, try using imatch. The database is very powerful. Has a scripting language too (basic).

BreezeBrowser Also works nicely for browsing if you catagorize your images yourself... particularly if you want to look at the EXIF data from. Imatch will too, but only the fields that are standardized (canon tends to slap info in it's own place an requires a bit of reworking to get the info).

They both have html output, imatch uses the scripts to generate (which you can customize). Not sure how breeze does it.. but haven't had a chance to figure out how to customize it. I prefer breeze because it reads the canon exif data, and i don't particularly need the database power of imatch.

slowview is a nice acdsee freeware alternative.. but lacking any management you might want.
