Need recommendations for quiet psu

My power supply died last night, and I'm looking to get a new 300-350W AMD approved psu. I don't have the money for one of the PC Power & Cooling silencer series, but I've looked at the Enermax EG365P-VE. I see mixed reviews here over how quiet different people think this particular psu is. Is it a good choice, or should I look at other alternatives?

I have the Antec 303PX(300watt) I believe is the number? It's really quiet, don't know about the 400 watt version.

Yes, the Antec PP303x is very quiet, and a solid unit. I have one for sale as well. 😉

I replaced my antec 300w with the enermax 350w fan control model and it was noticeably quieter. Nicely shipped and documented too.

Hi,

I've got the Enermax EG365P-VE, it's a very good PSU but I wouldn't call it very quiet. Not noisy is a better description . After a prolonged session of intense activity it's definitly far from silent.

If you want a truely silent 300w PSU, AMD and P4 ready with PFC I can highly recommend:
Zalman Noiseless Power Supply

If I knew about it at the time I would have definitely gotten it instead of the Enermax.

Be a little wary of Zalman. Their PSU is not approved by AMD. That doesn't mean it won't work, just that AMD hasn't approved it.

Zalman makes big claims, but their products don't always perform as claimed.
