How about a Lexus IS300? Nice sporty 4 door sedan. Lexus quality and luxury, excellent chassis and engine, honestly, I'd look around for a nice used one.

$16000 usd ($20 000) for a 2004 with 105 000 km on it... I have a hard time justifying that, and its $5000 out of my price range. A lot of the recommendations I'm getting are out of my price range or I'd have to buy a 2001 with 120 000 kms and buy it privately with no warrenty or reassurance. I know I want a coupe, and so far the saturn looks like the best deal, but I'm still open to other possiblities.

A weakness I noticed in the saturn was the stereo system. How expensive would it be to upgrade the speakers/sub, and would I have to buy a new deck? How difficult is it to do? I might only need a new sub if I purchase this car.

Also, here http://www.carpages.ca/used/20.../London/Ontario/167588 is a civic si coupe, 2005, 70 000 kms, for slightly more. Is the civic si coupe that much better that it might be worth it despite it being older with more kms?

And Here, http://london.kijiji.ca/c-cars...upe-W0QQAdIdZ104317974 it appears to be for sale from a lot, $4000 more than the saturn and $2000 overbudget, but its got 200 hp and pretty nice features and 40k kms. Is the Ecotec engine a big upgrade over the engine used in this one? (GM high value engine, LX9). The guy at the Saturn dealership was saying the ecotec is the bees knees pretty much, is this true? How does it stack up to similar offerings from overseas?

A G6 is a midsized car so not apples comparisions to Civics and other compacts but you might appreciate the nicer ride of a midsize. If its on a lot they can move probably 1500 if you play hardball
I'd pick the Civic over the ION if your not going to get the Redline I only suggested it cause I thought you wanted a car with some snap

ya, I'd love a car with some snap but at my pricepoint I dont think its gonna happen. Gonna buy the Ion tomorrow afternoon. Thanks guys for the suggestions, it led to a lot of reading and learning.

is that civic you linked to really an SI? i don't think it is unless the SI was different in the Canadian market. The 2005 Si was a hatchback in the states, and had a 2.0L. That looks like a regular coupe with some aftermarket exhaust on it. anyway, looks like you went with the Ion...be sure to post pics!
