I have currently have an 2000+ XP with the retail HSF. I don't plan on O/C'ing anytime soon, but my temps are a little high for my liking and will only go up with summer approaching.

I have decided to go with the SK-7 from SVC, but need recommendations for a quiet, 80mm fan from SVC. I would like to get a Panoflow L1A, but SVC is out of stock and I really don't want to place multiple orders. I am leaning toward the Enermax Whisper fan to go with the SK-7. Another option is the Vantec Stealth fan, but the user reviews around AT seem to be down on the Vantec fans.

So, what do you think about a SK-7 + Enermax Whisper 80mm?

As always, recommendations always welcome... :)

The Y.S. Tech adjustables are supposed to be good. They will give you the ability to manually adjust between performance and noise. For hotter times like the summer, it would be perfect.

The stealth is very quiet to me and it also cools well, considering. I've never used the whisper fan so I can't comment on it. Those along with the nmb fans are about the quietest, unless you plan to use a rhoebus as many of us are to help control fan speed.

I'd second the motion for the YS Tech adjustable fan. Nice output, noise level, etc.

according to this review, The Enermax rates high. Second to only the Panaflo H1A. I dont think he is refering to the whisper though.

I'm not sure if they had a mixup in the sound files or what but having used both the YS Tech and the Enermax adjustables, I can say the the YS Tech is much better in the area of "irritating sound" levels. The sound files reproduced on the review seem to show the opposite of my observations; the YS Tech had much more of a "whining" effect when running at full speed. Again, I've used both and ended up replacing one of the Enermax fans with the YS Tech for just that reason. Both times I used them it was on an AX-7 HS and maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, that's my observation, having used them both. I'd still like to try the Panaflo H1A on my next build though.
