A few months ago, I replaced the chipset fan on my a8n-sli deluxe mobo with the newer chipset fan that ASUS sent me. It has been getting a louder and I'm pretty sure it'll die out soon. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good chipset cooler?

if you have space, get a Cooler Master Blue Ice, which is very quiet and uses two heatpipes. The airflow on that thing is front to back, which is great for most air cooling configurations.

i looked at that chipset cooler and it seems to be too high and will probably interfere with my video card. Would it be possible to order the chipset cooler on the a8n-sli premium from ASUS?

Get a Zalman passive heatsink. If it interfere's with your VGA card, just snip off the offending fins. People have done this with no effect on their temps.

If you want to have a thin, active solution, go with a Vantec Iceberq. It is the same as the ones used on Abit boards but the ones built by Vantec seem to be higher quality than the ones used by Abit.

I went with a Swiftech MCX-159-R on my A8N-SLI Deluxe and it's been quiet ever since last June. It's big but it doesn't interfere with my single slot 7800GTX. Anything dual slot is out of the question for me. I'll have to get an A8N32-SLI to go dual slot.
