Just want something low cost (Under $150 would be great)

Just want to hook up to the Xbox or a DVD player or cable and watch DVD's/ football games with the kids and family. Any suggestions? I dont mind buying something used if it allows me to get better features/resolution but I have no idea which used models I should be searching for.

Hmmmm, not sure if you're going to find something for that range....football games during the day? not happening with the sun. Night MAYBE, gonna need something used.

Jediphx,

I hate to say, perhaps look at the AVS subforum "Outdoor Theaters" for some advice on Decent models.

Also, why would you want to watch movies outside in Lafayette???

<--- moved down there from the North for a job... stayed down there for 2.5 years. Lived in S Laffy closer to Broussard and Hwy 90.

Funny I just ran across this thread. I had the same idea in mind as you did, except I want to watch movies on the side of the house when I'm in the hot tub. I settled on an Infocus X2 DLP projector. I picked one up locally for $100.00 with a collapsed light tunnel and spent an hour fixing the light tunnel with some crazy glue. Works great now. It projects at 4:3, but has DVI(M connector) in so you can do 720p I'm told. At any rate, we played halo to test it out and now I just need to fabricate a small mount to attach it to our deck railing so we can watch movies while in the tub.
