Need recommendation on good SLR camera for wife.

K, I just bought a Sony DSC S75 Digital Camera and a Sony Mini DV DCR-PC9 and now my wife seems to think she wants a "regular" camera so I'm faced with the task of finding her one. I would like to spend around 300 or so and need this soon because this would be for my daughter's baptism coming up in like two weeks. Any links to review sites would be cool as well.

see if you can find a good used Nikon N6006/F601----excellent beginner camera. Good auto-everything camera that will still allow you to use manual focus lenses and allow the camera's meter to work. A good way to save money by buying the older manual focus lenses.
