Need recommendation on CPU and Video Card

Hi,

I want to run CS:Source and COD2 at 1024*768, 4xAA/8xAF and high detail settings. What CPU and Video Card will you recommend?

half life requires much less than call of duty. for cs you need maybe an x800 vanilla which costs anywhere from $110-150. for call of duty you need something like a 6800gt which may not even be enough.

A 6800GS would even be enough for COD2 to run at those settings, and probably even a 6600GT. I have a 6600GT paired with a Celeron D and I run COD2 at 1280x1024 with most settings on mid-high and I get very acceptable framerates.

x800gto2 with an a64 would be nice.

than oc the x800gto2 and get x850xt pe speeds along with your a64 processor operon 165 would be a nice choice or an x2.

I am running a 9600se for CS but I don't have CoD2.

My 9600se runs CS very well better than I expected. For you I recomend a 6800GS and Opteron 165
