Just to clarify, here's system spec I am planning to build for him: budget is really non issue for him. since his idea of a good setup is in the 2-2.5k range. I think I got plenty cash left for PSU with this setup in mind (so far under 2k).
Q9300 or E8400 w/ OCZ Vendetta 2 cooler
EVGA 132-CK-NF78-A1 SLI m.b.
2x2GB DDR2-1000 GSkill
2x1TB drive (Samsung SPing Point F1) in RAID, a single Raptor
2x9800GTX+
P182 case, couple of extra fans as needed
1x DVD RW burner
[Need that PSU here]

@HOOfan: I'm doing the build for him, since he might upgrade sli to more and more powerful stuff in the future, I recon, currently 2x 280GT is about 700-800W system. So I need something like 800W-1k to set him up for the future.
@BassBomb: currently I'm thinking 2x 9800GTX+. since it's most economical for the performance it can offer. 2x 280GT as upgrade for the future.

Corsair HX1000...if price isn't an issue. There are units out there just as good for less that may not be modular.

There are units out there that maybe better but provide less power or have noise issues.

Really if price isn't an issue then I say BFG ES-800 or Corsair HX1000. Considering the scary stories I am hearing from even reliable sources about GTX 280 power consumption, you may want to go for the Corsair.

Problem is I am not sure that the HX1000 will fit in a P182 case....you may want to PM Yellowbeard or Redbeard and ask them, as I am sure they have tried fitting it in that case owing to the fact that it is a very popular case.
