Need recommendation on a GPS for my parents

I know there are a lot of options for stand alone units.

I guess garmin, Magellan and TomTom are the top names.

My dad is semi tech savi, but simple is better

Your best bet may be to let them try out a few at a store...unless its a surprise gift. Also be sure to get one with lifetime map updates included.

I got my mother a Garmin for Xmas this past year, and she loves it. I paid around $80 at Walmart.

I sometimes use a medion gopal (ALDI gps navigator) and it does its job, no lifetime maps updates though, there's a code to do it once and that's it.
I'd get something with lifetime map updates (or alternatively something very popular) because when they change up the roads it becomes frustrating, and it's not like they break anyway.

I got a Garin Nuvi 40 last year. It was the cheapest POS I could find and I used it a lot last year. It's good as avery basic and functional GPS for just over $100. You could probably find it on sale now.
