After being a subscriber for nearly two years I've had it with GTE/Verizon DSL! My service crapped out 3 days ago and I've been getting the run-around from script-reading morons that pass themselves off as customer service reps. Tonight I was told that a port somewhere (on their end) is out and, pending new installations, they don't have another one they can assign to me. So, unless someone discontinues their service, I may have to wait until the end of December before I can get reconnected! What BS!
Even worse is the collective attitude I've been running into the past 3 days, which has conveyed to me that Verizon really doesn't care whether I remain as a customer or not.

Can anyone suggest any good broadband alternatives? Adelphia is my cable company so I'm going to give them a call. What other options do people suggest?
