need recommendation for awesome Double Deck Car Stereo !!!!!!

Most of them stink, seriously. They don't have a alot of features given their size.

If you're gonna go DD, go with a Nav unit.

If you don't want to spend that much money (all suggestions above are over 1 grand) you can just go with a single DIN with a kit that has a pocket underneath. This way it fills up the whole opening.

Yep. Best suggestion.

which one will allow my girlfriend to watch dvd's/ multimedia video? It seems like the AVN EClipise does, and the kenwood does too, not the pioneer avic, is that correct.?

What's your price range and what features do you absolutely have to have?

A good navigation unit is going to cost a lot and unless you do some sort of stealth install, it's going to make your vehicle attractive to thieves.

my price range is between 750-1000.
i must have some dvd/multimedia feature for the girlfriend on long road trips. GPS obviously. can play music, i guess obvious.. i suppose thats it. i do not want or need xm radio. thats about it

my 2005 ford explorer stereo looks like it came from 1994
LOLOL. I feel your pain. It's the 21st century... how big do radio preset buttons need to be? And segmented numbers for the display, wtf?

The only thing that used to piss me off more than that was entry level instrument gauge clusters. "Cluster" is inappropriate since that would imply a decent group of readouts, not just a big ass speedometer on the left and a big ass fuel gauge on the right.
