Hi,
I'm looking for a 20" monitor or bigger for my wife to use at work. She's a dentist and we need to hang the monitor on pole holding the light.
We're going to have a image splitter connected to her microscope and plug a digital camera (most likely a Nikon coolpix 4500 or equivalent) into it. The camera will be used to document and also to output the image to a LCD monitor, where she'll look at to work.
The main reason behind this is her comfort and ergonomy, as it is much easier for the eyes and she can keep her back and neck straight. Her assistant can also benefit from it looking at the monitor at the same time.
What we are looking for is:
1) Vesa holes to hang the monitor to the pole (using a VESA bracket of course);
2) Video (composite is fine) input;
3) Good contrast and viewing angles;
4) Size 20" , 1600x1200 (preferebly) or 1680x1050. As the camera has 4 Megapixels and can output also 3:2 images, we could look also into a widescreen monitor, the image would scale better I guess.
5) The screen CANNOT be glossy like the NEC MultiSync 20WGX2. My wife hates it and with all the lighting in a dentist's office, reflection would be a problem;
I don't think that Dell's monitor have the VESA holes, so I'm leaving them out for the moment.
The monitor I picked myself at the moment is the Samsung 204TS. http://www.samsung.com/au/products/monitors/tft/204ts.asp?page=Specifications
It has a good price here also.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions from you guys. Xtknight's comments are welcome also
