I have a Gigabyte Motherboard EP45-UD3P purchased in 2009. I just installed Windows 8 and good old Microsoft deleted my Realtek Audio Manager and drivers, so I have no sound.
Can anyone tell me where I can get the Correct drivers for my board? Gigabyte website does not support this board now since its old. The driver that windows 8 install is a microsoft product and does not work either.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciate.

thanks in advance

You could try Realtek's site but I doubt you'll find a working driver. Onboard audio is the first on the planned obsolescence list of the IT cartel.

You can use the generic HD audio drivers provided with windows but those do not have many features. I'd suggest to try the generic realtek drivers.

Direct link to the generic realtek HD audio drivers:

http://www.realtek.com/downloads/do...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

The Vista/7/8/8.1 ones should cover pretty much every HD codec realtek has made. You just have to install the version appropriate for your windows version (x86 or x64) of course.

Thanks all for the info. I tried he Win 7 sound drivers from Gigabyte website and they did not work. I also tried the Generic windows 8.1 from Realtek site and so far they do not work either. Will research more.

Which color audio port are you using? Are the speaker connector plugs color coded?

green. yes both the iogear 2 port dvi kvm switch and the back of my desktop the audio
ports are color coded. At this point I'm looking at purchasing a Sound Blaster sound card and disable the onboard audio.

thanks
