Need really help with win2k users

I posted this in another forum, but didn't get a working answer.

In win2K, I installed EZCD as the administrator. However, when I try to start the program when loggen in as a different user, I get a "Access Denied" error. I gave the user full control to the Adaptec folder. But I still get that message.

What should I do? Is there an option to tell win2k which user could use what programs?

It's clean install of win2k, ezcd 4.03, no direct cd.

Could it be that there is a .dll file that the user cannot access?

Try:
- Log back in as Admin
- Run the app and do whatever job the person without the admin rights wants to do
- As long is it's okay when you're done, log out and let them log in and try again.

Sometimes the app isn't actually fully setup until the admin runs a job on it, then access MIGHT be okay for non-admins.

Otherwise, non-admins are screwed. EZCD accesses hardware controls and NT/2000 don't allow non-admins to access hardware controls.

You're only option (if the problem is the program can't be accessed by Non-admins) is to give the user Local Admin rights, then they could only potentially screw up THAT machine.

Good luck!

I have been using the program as admin for a while.

Whenever I even try to start the program, I get a "access denied" message!

So, nobody can use EZCD who's not an admin? That's really crappy!

Give the user rights to install programs and log on as the user and try to reinstall the software and see what happens.
