Hi, my friend has a new computer with a 3200+ Venice @ 2.4GHz
a Radeon x1800XL with 256MB VRAM @ 50MHz overclocks on memory and vpu
2GB PC3200 DDR (one high denisty stick of 1gb, one normal stick of 1 gb)
160GB SATA HD
Audigy 2 Value
asus a32 sli deluxe.

When we try running counterstrike source @ 1600x1200 at high and 6X FSAA on any map with aroune 15 bots, the fps stays at 10fps.

He is only getting 4300 3dmarks.

We tried changing every component except flashing a new bios onto the mobo b/c the site was down for asus. When we first reinstalled xp on it today we got around 4955 3dmarks and ran BF2 at 1600x1200 rather smoothly (cs source wasnt installed yet). After putting cs source, avg free and msft antispyware on it, cs source runs at the same 10 fps.

Any help???
 
Those are really high settings, try 4xAA. Other programs are probably taking up some CPU usage, and you are probably CPU limited. Running 2 different types of RAM never helps, so go into the BIOS and manually set all the timings to the higher of the 2.
