After atleast 6 years of my abuse my current Gore-Tex shell (jacket) is finally starting to tear. I started looking for replacements but have not really found anything. The only two decent waterproof jackets I have owned are this shell and my parka, which is from Mountain Hardware and lined with Conduit.

The criteria: Under $200US, XXL, full zip, hood, underarm vents

Also if possible how does Gore-Tex compare to some other proprietary fabrics?
