Ack! Ok so I recently reinstalled w2k, then installed the service pack, updated the 4-1's, installed the compatibility fix, and then tried to reinstall my Radeon with the drivers off the CD. Well it didnt work. In fact it crashes even before i get into windows, well, i get a blue background, a pointer, and then it freezes. I tried the beta drivers from rage3d, but they produced similar results. Does anyone have any ideas?

One time I had problems with SP1 for Win2k, wouldn't boot again after I installed it. But the order I install the stuff is: SP1, 4in1, drivers, THEN the VIA fix.

Can you boot into safe mode or "last known good configuration" and see if you can fix it?

maybe you need clean the registry of the old driver that you installed. Cuz I got the Radeon a week ago. Reinstall OS and install the beta driver from Rage3D. I can play UT for hours and no crash and my systems stays on 24/7. So if you did it right and it should be pretty solid.

Yes, install the AGP GART Driver from VIA last. The Radeon drivers install their own AGP driver that isn't stable with VIA boards. That was the order I did and my AIW Radeon works fine, but I cannot get 4X AGP... but oh well

Run msconfig and delete all references to ATI from the start tab. Do a find for ATIGART and rename it or delete the folder altogether. Disable ATIPOLAB and you're all set.

Ok so I booted to safe mode, conencted t the internet, and got the drivers from the ATI website... seems like the ones from the CD didnt install right in the first place. So Ive got the 3056's(?) in, but I still cant seem to get anything else working right. Does anyone have any ideas? BTW i did reinstall the VIA 4-1s over the Radeon updated Beta drivers while I was in safe mode, it didnt work.
