Need quick responses! About to purchase 1600XP.. which fan??

Assuming you got a very good heatsink that uses 80mm fans, the Panaflo L1A is an excellent choice.

Hmm, actually I need a heatsink and fan... any good recommendations for the combo? Thanks for the responses so far.

I have a Alpha PAL 8045 with a PC Power and Cooling Silencer 20 db @27 cfm. I love this combo, but you have to be careful because the 8045 doesn't fit some mobos. The Papst 80 mm fan is also a excellent and quiet option for the Alpha 8045, but the fan is $20. This isn't the cheapest option either. The bare HS will run you $30-$35 and the fan will run between $10-$20 typically.

The biggest bang for the buck would have to be the SVC GC68 and Panaflo L1a combo. The fan is on par with the PC Power and Cooling Silencer in noise and cfm, but cost under $5 at most places these days. The SVC does a good job too from what I hear and it's cheap.

It looks like you want good and cheap, so I would suggest going to Svcompucycle, ordering the SVC GC68 (comes with a cheap fan that you can discard) and add a Panaflo L1a to your cart. 🙂

Salvador: I would get that one, but they charge $7 shipping! That's crazy! Hmm, I wonder if I could find a decent one at CompUSA or BestBuy.. any local store... any suggestions?

Haha, thats funny. Shipping is less when I buy the fan with that Heatsink/Fan combo. I might just go with that unless I get a response here within the next few minutes about a good cheap one in a local store 🙂. Thanks Salvador.
