Need quick response, are hats safe to put in washers?

About to do laundry and wondering if I should throw my cotton hat in..

depends on the hat. i messed up one of my fitted hat in the washer, but my other hats were fine

cotton is ok, thats how i clean them at work unless they *need* drycleaning for some reason

wool i wouldnt do, but cotton will be fine...unless it bleeds

Make sure the brim isn't made of stiff cardboard like a lot of them are!!! That will get ruined.

I wash mine in dishwasher. Washing machine will ruin it

It will get beat around a lot, so unless the bill insert is plastic it will probably get ruined.

There are racks you can get to put a hat in the DISH-washer but I just used a regular bowl to hold it in place. Works wonderfully unless you have alot of gooby-plates being washed, then the hat gets nasty. I have never tried in the clothing washer as the dishwasher method works so well
