Like, I have a background image that I'm trying to blur half of it into a solid black because it looks ugly that the image ends early.

create a gradient and then use it to create a mask that you use to have your picture fade into black?

I'm not familiar with masks, I think I did it before but I forgot how...

fading is a good description of what I want to do.

Oh my god I'm stupid!

The gradient tool has a preset Foreground to Background! I've been trying to blur the images.😕
