Need quick opinion: is Geforce 820m a good laptop GPU?

Is it?

Will it handle World of Warcraft and Warlords of Draenor on at least "Low" settings?

Just staying home today, browsing Black Friday deals. Saw a few laptops with this chip that stood out, lots of laptops seem to be on sale today.

Thanks.

Ancient Fermi GPU. AVOID unless you play games older than 2009 @ 720P.
Was originally released as the GT 435M from 2010. It can run Fallout 3 and other old games at medium/low @ 720P.

CTRL-F 820M

Please kill Fermi, NVIDIA!

edit: It does compete with Intel's integrated graphics but is far, FAR less efficient. Go with the GT 830M. That is a modern mobile GPU with some oomph.

Google is your friend. notebookcheck benchmarks .

You might be able to play those games at 768p, lowest settings. But for any kind of gaming other than undemanding older titles, I would try to get something at least GT940m or preferably higher.

Edit: looks like someone else already posted the link.

I see.

So it appears they are trying to "clear out" old chips then, I understand why some of these machines are priced so low now.

I'll steer clear, thanks!
