Need quick newb help with MS Word 2000

I need some easy help with Word 2000 guys

I need to make a document where the paper has to divided into 2 columns. Think of it as a piece of paper that you fold in half (the long way). I want to split the Word document into a halve like that. Does anyone know how to do this?

By the way, I already know about the 2-column method. It's just that I want to type in both columns simultaneously (instead of filling up 1 column and THEN gain ability to type in the other column).

If you have Excel, how about inserting a 1 X 2 Excel worksheet into the document? Or, just do it in Excel.

Insert > Object > Excel worksheet.
