Need quick monitor help badly

A couple days ago, I got these green and pink lines going vertically across my screen while playing a video game. Thought it was my vid card overheating so i turned everything off and used an air duster to clean out the fan and made sure it was running. Everything ok here.

This problem happened very rarely. Just today, it happens very soon after my computer starts up...always. I turned off my comp, tried re-seating my memory, video card, unplugged all the cables and plugged them back in. Also dusted out my case and fans. I have the case open now, so it's not heat issues. I also un-bundled my monitor cords just in case them being bent up was causing some problems. I re-installed drivers for my vid card (radeon 9800 pro 128mb running latest catalyst drivers). I ran full virus scan with norton (and updated virus definitions), ran spybod s&d and ad-aware.

Not quite sure what's causing the problem now. My comp starts up with a normal screen (it's also fine during startup when showing all the loading info). After 5 minutes or so the pink and green lines come up on the screen.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

That'll be a couple of graphics RAM chips on their way out. If the card is overclocked, back down.

ok it's happening almost instantaneously once i go into any game now...usually it will stay fine if I don't go into a game. Is it definitely the video card? I've never overclocked, but I downloaded a trial version of powerstrip to underclock (real word?) my card slightly just in case something was wrong there. Any ideas? or is my vid card toast. :(

Any way you can try that card in another computer? Its the card most likely. Sometimes it just happens, luck of the draw.
