our "Loan Guy" has been wonderful the past few months as we are working with him on something, and he is stopping by my office today so i can sign some papers and i want to get him a small, yet nice thank you gift...

I was thinking wine, but i dont know if he drinks it, and if he does... white or red?
Or, some type of liquor (again, don't know what he drinks)

and other ideas for a not to pricy gift that i can get today???

HELP!

By Jove, you are outta here. See you in a week.

I find this pwnage HILARIOUS!

Kudos, Mod...quick and decisive....

BTW...gift certs are nice. What type of town are you in? Is there a "Things Remembered" in the mall or something like that nearby? A nice paperweight/business card holder, etc is cool. They can usually engrave it pretty quickly, too.

no more serious answers? 🙁
I guess i could get a gc to a nice restaurant, i just did not want to spend that much

I was editing my response--perhaps "Things Remembered" would be a little too pricey for you.

What is your price range? $10-15?

If he works for a bank he may not be able to accept gifts. I know that was in our contracts when I was working at a bank.

I'd say a decent bottle of red wine can always be appreciated. Even if he doesn't drink he can cook with it or regift it. 😉

Since it's quick notice, and we don't know his tastes, the options are severely limited.

If you have a half-hour, why not swing by BestBuy and take a look at some of the gadgets, or maybe swing by a Gadgets and Gizmos or a Spencers?

Georgian wine (the country of Georgia) is excellent. Semi-sweet like Khvanchkara (best) or Kinzmarauli are the best, plus they come in cool packaging often!

I actually prefer cognac to wine as a gift, although it may cost you a bit more.

I'd go to a liquor store or wine shop, if you've got one close, and ask for a recommendation. Maybe they even know your loan officer. 😉

I like Australian, personally. Lindeman's and Wolf Blass. For Californian, I like Beringer (cheaper) and Geyser Peak ($20-$50).

GCs are the best... Many restaurants are owned by corporations, so it's common for numerous restaurants to be under the same corporation. For example, Chilis, Macoroni Grill, and Bonefish Grill are all under the same management....(if I remember correctly). So you can buy a gift cert that works for all of them....so it gives him a little selection.
