I brought my 120 gig WD into work today. I installed it and everything was detected in the bios. Now whe nI get into Windows, it doesnt see it. I looked at the Disk Management tool, and it is there but is not active. It is showing as Disk 0, a Dynamic Disk, and Foreign?? IF I try to convert it to a basic Disk, it says it will have to format it. IT shows up in the Device manager as working properly. I am running XP and the drive was formated in XP SP1 with the NTFS.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

did you set the partition to active? That is the only thing I can think of that will help.

Edit:

Wait, I assume this is your home computer drive you brought in and slaved it to your work computer? Have you tried making it the master on your second IDE channel and then reading the disk? Is the home computer using any kind of RAID(software/hardware)? If it is, you are probably not going to be able to read that disk. What OS are you running at work?

Right click the drive and import it. (Use help if you need further assistance. In fact, if you had gone to Start, Help, and typed the word "foreign," the answer would have been staring you in the face.)

Next time, post in the operating systems forum.
