I recently got an Antec SLK3700AMB (case), so i had to move everything over, which is the worst part =p, so many things can go wrong. Anyhow, i just can't seem to boot. It wont detect "2nd master slave", then it says there's a problem with the hardware monitor or something. Then i check out hardware monitor from the Bios, and the fan speed is at 1180 and highlighted in red, i don't know if that's bad or not. Next time i tried to boot up it gave me the same error, i went to the bios and it was more around 1300, and climbing, and it wasnt in red.

So anyway, i may not know what i'm doing =p, could use some quick help. I'm typing from another computer. I can't figure out why it won't boot up...

I took a quick peek at a photo of the brother to the P4PE/L, the P4PE-X. It doesn't seem to have the center-right mobo-mounting hole that's typical of an ATX motherboard, so I was wondering if you have a motherboard standoff under that position, but no hole in the mobo that lines up with it. If that were the case, the standoff is probably touching the mobo's underside and shorting something out.

In this photo of the case, the standoff in question would be screwed into the hole that's below that yellow wire. If there's no hole in the mobo there, take that standoff out and see if you're in the clear :)

I would also say that, depending on wat CPU Fan you have, that the speeds seem very low. can you try another fan??

With CPU's now it does not take long for them to over heat

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure about the standoff thing...it's pretty hard to see with all the junk in there.

That fan i was talking about isnt the CPU fan.

If possible, try probing behind the mobo with a credit card or something, to feel for that standoff. If it is there, you can loosen up the screws, sneak the credit card between the mobo and standoff, and then snug the screws down again. That would insulate the motherboard from the standoff for the interim.

Good idea but that isn't the problem. It just doesn't want to detect any of the secondaries. Almost got it to boot but it said it had a problem configuring the OS or something. Anyhow, i called a computer fixit guy and maybe he'll be out here soon, within a week hopefully =p

What fans are plugged in, other than the CPU fan? Try unplugging them from the motherboard. Also, what are the various drives you've got, and did you confirm that you don't have two Masters or two Slaves on the same cable? Are all your hard drives using cables with the finer wires (ATA100/133 cables, not old coarse-wired ATA33 cables)?
