i have the 2 disk to reformat osx but i forgot how to do it, do i put in the disk and hit cmd o? that seems to ring a bell for me..

can anyone take a quick second and link me on how to properly reformat and install osx again, my grandmothers system (macbook) is extremely slow loading and my cousin who uses it every weekend tends to visit all kinds of malicious websites so im assuming it has tons of spyware and malware and virus's theirs nothing on the system i have to backup to a quick and clean install is all i need. how do i get the laptop to boot from the disk?

also is there any A/V i should install? i saw avast! has somthing free for mac now, when i last looked at there website from my windows pc, is that necessary? any free spyware/malware blockers/cleaners i should install? i trying to avoid doing this process again in the future... Im telling ya folks, once your family learns you know how to fix a pc/mac, you become the first person they call as soon they receive a problem with their computer, its becoming more then a hassle then everything, i feel like every week someone in my family needs my skills in someway...weather its setting up their new flatscreen or fixing an a computer, being the family go to guy is more then a hassle then anything 🙁

Just hold the "C" key during boot to boot from media. And yes, I use Avast Free A/V on 10.8.3
