nVidia GeForce4 MX440se for a gigabyte GA-6v7XE-A. Will this out perform a Gforce 256 32mb RAM 2x AGP?

It should outpeform a geforce 256, but if you're planning on gaming the gf4 isn't going to be any good..

you must be mistaken, there is no competition between a g4mx and a geforce256, the g4mx would abosutely CRUSH a geforce256. a geforce4mx will run all games on the market when paired with a good CPU.

GA-6v7XE-A ? Should be 6VTXE-A?

Could be a good match since that mobo isn't going to be used for Doom3 or HL2.

A GF4Ti4200 is more money and a better match for any gaming at all.

Thanks for the help, I decided to go with a GForce 5200 FX 128 mb for the GA-6VTXE(-A) motherboard. The only problem I have now is I can't seem to get it to run in AGP 4X. The mobo can only support 4X and I have updated the bios with current, and have set it on 4X. I have also loaded updated drivers for the via chipset for the mobo. I did that and then I installed the most current drivers for the Gforce card.
I cannot seem to get the Gforce card to show up as a 4X under display properties, what is my problem? I am at a loss.

P.S.
This is not a replacement for anything in my system, this is for my Bro's computer. ;)
