1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Gaming and burning movies for my family

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
Im past my budget, wife is already going to kill me. 1200ish is good with me. I told the wife 500 hahaha

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
USA, newegg

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
nVidia and Asus - I will never use a non asus mobo again, ever.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
None.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Default

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Gonna order it in a week or 2

-------

Ive been out of this game for a while now, about 5 years. I cant even run freakin spore and Im stuck playing age of mythology still.

I really just need someone to tell me what power supply is cheap and will run this np. Ive always been confused with all the anomalies that actually make up a psus power.

Also if Im missing anything or anything can be swopped out for a better price/performance ratio lemme know. I did almost no research at all on this so any help will be appriciated.

Thanks
Chris

Here's your lineup:
Q9550 ($280) + EP45-UD3P ($115AR) + 2x2GB DDR2-1066 (2x $45) = $485
PhII 940 + 790GX combo ($285AR) + 2x2GB DDR2-1066 (2x $45) = $375
Core i7 920 + Asus P6T Deluxe combo ($550) + SuperTalent 3x2GB DDR3-1333 ($110) = $660

Cooling:
C2Q/PhII: Xigmatek S1283 $37
Core i7: Vigor Monsoon III $60

Other parts:
Powercolor 4870 1GB $210AR
Corsair 650TX $80AR

Comments:
Just pick a quad from the lineup above. PhII right now offers great performance/cost.
1GB 4870 is equal to slightly better than GTX 260/216 and quite a bit cheaper.
Your case & HDD look good.

Ill swap the mobo for that gigbyte since Ive seen tons of people recommend it but theres no way Im going ATI. Im an nVidia fanboy, period. Anything cheaper and better/comparible on the nVidia video card front?
