Need proof that Bose sucks

This guy I know wants a Wave radio, and I need to convince him not to. He won't settle for "Bose sucks".

Edit: He bought Sennheiser wireless headphones instead!

There's nothing really wrong with the wave radio except for the fact that it's insanely overpriced.
Most people care about form over functionality anyways.

Tell him to find a local store where he can compare all of them - honestly, if he doesn't want to care why bother? Let him choose and to a person like him it won't matter most likely, let them brag all they want about it, it's his own choice and honestly if you spite it just for price then think twice, sure, not the best choice, but it'll sound better than your $20 wal mart boom box.

Well what should I get instead of the Bose SoundDock for my iPod? That seems to be the best sounding speaker set with dock connector and remote.

Why the hell do you need the dock? Just use the friggen audio-out to some real speakers, like the Swan M200.

Go to a local store and hear what they have, in the case that it is the best sounding get it, don't base it just on "Bose sucks" or the price tag.

Any idiot knows that Bose produces lower quality audio than other devices for the same price... That obviously isn't quantitative.... I know there have been tests and whatnot.

Either that or someone who wants a good setup and either doesn't know any better or doesn't care that much that they'll think twice. They just know the brand name Bose and will go with it.

The thing is you cant compare all the brands fairly because BOSE doesnt let their product sit next to another brand. Ever see those staged areas where BOSE speakers are? They are designed to show them in the best possible light with no regard for RL usage or a comparison to another brand. Go ask a BOSE dealer if you can compare them side by side with another brand and see what the answer is 🙂

BOSE also doesnt publish any specs and for good reason - independent testing has confirmed their products are terrible for the cost, they are cheaply made and produce a sound thats all bass and highs, no mids at all. Thats not to say they are complete junk like a $50 Walmart special but $ for $ you can do much better.

Look at Cambridge Soundworks if you want a radio similar to the BOSE one. Dont forget BOSE stands for Better Off with Something Else 😛
