one day my hard drive decided to crap while flashing my video card bios. it said cand find system.sys i think, i found through dos that 1/2 the system32/config folder was missing and that i was getting SMART warning while booting.
so i have a new drive with winxp on it, and im just having a hard time figuring how to copy my files from old hdd to new one. the dos disk i created with ntfs dos does not have the xcopy command in it. i need to copy folders, i cant copy thousands of pics one by one. dos from within xp does have the command, but windows cant read the disk and gives me "disk currupt and unreadable"
is there a program that can get the data from windows, or can someone show me a dos boot disk program that contains xcopy. forget fixing it (if possible) i just want a clean slate with a new drive
thanks, robb
