ANyone know of a proggy that will help me sort my mp3's by genre/ or by any other info in ID tag? WOuld be a great help in making some cd's and tidying up my mp3 collection.
thx!!!!!!!!!!!😀

Yeah!

It's called MP3 - Library.

Unfortunately, I can't find a link to it, not even the software has any mention of a web page.

That prog I mentioned is for specialized for uploading to the Jukebox mp3 player.. there are problably better ones. Check download.com for some mp3 "library"-type programs.

There is a "shortcut" way to do it in Winamp.

Under preferences, go to Plug-ins > Input > Nullsoft Mpeg Audio Decoder 2.xx [IN_MP3.DLL]

Click configure

Click the tab that says Title

In the second text box that says Title formatting (when ID3 tag is present), simply type in the artist, title, genre, etc variable in the order you want it to sort by. For example, typing in %6 - %2 (%1) would display Rock - Metallica (So What).

When you choose sort by title in the main window, it actually sorts by whatever variable is first. The only thing is, you will have to reload or replay all your mp3s to get Winamp to reread the tags.
