Hey. Need some help from an experienced photochopper to help me make a gift. I have a picture of a tap dancer from which I need to cut out the background and put him on a plain white background for a more artistic style shot. If you feel like adding any other effects, go ahead as long as they're classy and artistic like a typical dancer's shot (kind of like THIS). Black and white is probably the way I want to go, but I'm not sure.

There's also a little bit of trail from the dancer's movement, probably because of the odd lighting and average digital camera, and a small spot on his sholder from a reflection on the lens or something.

If you're in the mood to help out on this quick job, please let me know and I'll PM you the picture.

THANKS SO MUCH. (You're helping make a little old lady (the recipient) happy.)

it will be more effective if you just post the pic here and let everyone take a stab at it.

Whatever, though. Might as well just let everyone take a stab at it/them...

Here it is.

Not for 56Kers.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure I want to use this one, but there's another one I'm considering...

Yeah, I know. It's what they gave me. It will be put on a 5x7, so it's not the biggest issue. I might have another one to work with, though. I'll see if I can get it. They like this one the best, though.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll try to clean it up myself, too. There's no more effective way to do it? I've seen some photochop jobs on here where they cut one thing out and put it in another picture so that you couldn't even tell. (I know on a white background is more difficult, but... yeah).

There are more effective ways to do it, but they are time-consuming, and I don't have the time to spend on it.

What is the tool/technique called? I have photoshop and am willing to give it a shot...

(Or, of course, if anyone else is willing to help)

I'm not going to both photoshopping it since a few of the others are very well done. To make the image a little more crisp, in photoshop, duplicate the layer. on the top layer, add a Highpass filter and change it to about .6ish. Then change the layer option to Overlay. See if that makes it nicer for you.
