At work I am using acrobat 9 pro to convert 1000s of pdf into ocr pdfs so my indexing program can index the converted text. I also am using a freeware program that allows me to change the metadata, in this case the timestamp like modified date, creation date etc. My problem now is that there are several 10000 pdfs on my server in folders and sub folders and even more sub folders. The way i have been doing this is in batches by noting the filestamps of the files, using acrobat pro to convert to ocr then using the date changing program to put back the original dates. This is going to take months to complete.
So, my question is:
Is there a program out there that can allow me to convert PDF scanned documents into ocr pdfs so that the text within the pdf can be indexed using indexing SW BUT maintain the original timestamp of the document? Freeware would be best but I am not opposed to paying for the sw if it works.
