Need PC advice

I need to customize a basic PC with a decent processor. Windows XP not mandatory but highly highly preferred. Does not need to be 2 core.

HD 40-100GB, RAM 2GB.

Any one know of any good deals out there? Im looking for 600-900 range.

thanks

Dell has these all the time for ~$400. In today's paper:

$449: Vostro slim tower, P4 dual-core, XP Home, 160 GB, 2GB (was +$50 from $399), DVD burner: E-value code BRPPSFM -- I'd much rather have core 2 than P4 though.

Want it in laptop form? $549 Vostro Core 2 laptop, 2 GB, 160 GB, 15.4" screen, XP Home : E-value code 13710-BQPRK1L (iL?)

Check gottaDeal.com they sometimes have much better Dell deals than the newspaper ones.

Edit: I'm guessing you're happy with intel integrated graphics. If not, say what else you need in features beyond RAM and HD.

Hell, for $600-$900, you can even get a hardcore system. Just jump on the Dell $700 q6600 + 24" lcd package. And if you want, add a 8800gts for $200 and you'd have a kickass system for $900.
I guess my point is that you are asking for more advice/options than you bargained for when you throw a number like $600-$900 out there. For a basic everyday windows xp pc, you can aim for as low as $300 home-built (without lcd) which makes the $400 Dell systems that include lcds that much better. gotapex.com and resellerratings.com/deals.pl usually have the best and latest dell deals.
