need P4 OCing mobo

Don't even bother with the motherboards that are available now. Get yourself a Granite Bay chipset motherboard. They should be available in a week or so. The Asus P4G8X Granite Bay chipset motherboard looks very impressive: Great overclocker, Hyperthreading (HT) support, Gigabit LAN, Firewire, Serial ATA RAID, 8X AGP, and so forth and so on. The most important feature of granite bay is dual-channel DDR, which allows you to feed the Pentium4 with the high memory bandwidth it needs to reach its' full potential. Just remember to populate the 1st and the 2nd memory banks with memory to take advantage of dual-DDR. No need to choose RDRAM now that Granite Bay is on the horizon. Cheers!

well do you want the features or a strictly overclocking board?
abit it7max was a good board, asus p4b533 as well, and im seeing asus p4pe is also a pretty good board
if you want the dual channel and stuff, then wait for granite bay

What the hell is Granite Bay?

I'd get the EPoX 4PEA+

I have this thing arriving sometime this week... I think it's going to RULE!

Don't listen to this zShowtimez. He's obviously biased. Remember my recommendation.

I plan on buying a P4 2.0A, and 2 sticks of Samsung PC2700 256MB DDR, so ill probably go with Granite Bay. What kind of prices will I be looking at on the motherboard?

The P4 2.4B is the better overclocker, P4 2.0A is a risky overclocker because you may not be able reach the now common 533MHz FSB unless your lucky enough to get a 2.0A with C1 stepping. Wouldn't risk it though, still get the P4 2.4B. Good memory choice. Excellent motherboard choice. The granite bay mobos should vary in price from $120-$170, depending on which onboard features you require. Obviously the basic granite bay mobo won't cost too much.

Go to the fs forum and do a search for thugsrook. He is selling an awesome board for a northwood. The Asus P4b533. That thing clocks like a champ and he takes awesome care of his stuff. And he is a reputable trader and is selling it for hella cheap.

dude shut the hell up.

Please dont keep posting remember my recomendation as it is in his best interest to take everyones recomendation into account.

Granite bay is going to cost about 170-200 minimum iirc from anand's comdex motherboard article.

I have the it7max, and my 1.8a is running at 2.7(h20) but it is perfectly stable, with pc3200 at 400mhz.

I am not biased, I don't even have the damn board yet..
anyways, i wouldn't listen to people who tell someone to not listen to someone else... they're obviously retarded.

Sorry guys. I have granite bay on the brain. Thinking about it further, I should've let him choose from all recommendations. My apologies!

These motherboards were for show so they cost more than other granite bay chipset motherboards with less features.
