Need Overclocking Help

So, I read the overclocking guide, but it seems that I can't get past the first stage of it. I set my memory speed to 100, set the multiplier to 6, and boost the FSB/LDT or whatever it's called (yes, I'm not that experienced with overclocking) and all I get is a message saying motherboard now running in safe mode, please reset CPU clock speed. Why is my DFI so sensitive? Is there some sort of option in BIOS that I have to use to disable safe mode? HELP!

First of all, there are special guides to specifically overclock DFI boards because they have so many settings to be configured. Second, flash your Bios to the newest non-beta version. See if that helps.

I second Frallan's comment. Go to www.dfi-street.com. There is some great information there.

I have DFI NF4 Lanparty with 3000+ Venice core. I had trouble o/c and it turned out that I needed to DRAM drive strength correctly. One guess as to where that info came from. 🙂
