Hello I just upgraded my system and now have:
Abit NF7-S mobo
Athlon XP 2500+ mobile
512 MB XMS3200 Corsair RAM CAS2
GF3 Ti500
I am not getting very good overclocks and am not certain why. I dropped the CPU multiplier down to 7 and then tried raising the FSB, but ~ 175 it starts to get errors in Prime95 and a lot of times it will turn off and the annoying siren will play. I think my temp are alright, I've never seen the CPU temp over 50 so I don't know quite whats going on. I put my stick of memory into DIMM slot 3 as is recomended in the manual, is this correct? Am I going about the overclock the right way? What might cause the siren? Thanks in advance for the help you guys can offer, you are always great.
